The expedition
Three weeks on moving sea ice toward ninety degrees north, where the ground drifts under you while you sleep.
The North Pole is not a mountain you climb. It is a moving target on a frozen ocean, and the ice you cross by day carries you backwards while you rest. Open leads, pressure ridges, and a cold that does not negotiate.
Twenty-one days in a very small team. This is the deep end of polar travel, and the screening reflects that. If you are ready, there are few harder or more honest places to stand.
